On 5 October 2016, Lamborghini had a 15-minute window of clear track at the at Nürburgring Nordschleife to make an attempt at the lap record. It took test driver Marco Mapelli just 6:52.01 minutes in a production Huracán Performante, still in its development camouflage, to set a new production car lap record.
