Ford recruits robot test drivers

Meet Shelby and Miles, the newest members of Ford’s team of test drivers at the Weather Factory in Cologne, where engineers test vehicles in simulated extreme conditions. The weather conditions simulated at the facility are so realistic that human test drivers can sometimes feel tired or unwell as they work. However, these robot test drivers, named after Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles, can help take the strain, especially for stressful altitude tests
