Land Rover’s TV advert for the new Defender draws on the vehicle’s role in the upcoming James Bond film, No Time To Die, including being launched into the air and further extreme tests as the vehicle is driven at high speed through swamps and rivers.
Nick Collins, Land Rover’s vehicle line director for the Defender said that the team developed a new test standard for this car, which is the most challenging the company has ever applied. The car’s physical strength and durability was measured by a number of different tests, including a bridge jump test, which enabled the stunt team to drive the Defender hard in the movie, with no modifications required for the body structure except the installation of a roll cage.
