Simulation and driving simulator company, VI-grade, has announced a strategic partnership with Stackpole Engineering Services, a provider of engineering solutions to tyre and vehicle OEMs and suppliers, which will advance the companies’ research and development efforts in the areas of tyre testing, tyre modelling and simulation application.
Stackpole Engineering Services uses a VI-grade Desktop Simulator at its corporate office in North Canton, Ohio to support the evaluation and certification of tyre models and vehicle physics in various professional driving simulator applications. Through this new partnership, VI-grade and Stackpole Engineering Services will now directly collaborate on the development and implementation of tyre and vehicle models across VI-grade’s driving simulators, ensuring support for the joint customer base of vehicle and tyre manufacturers.
The deal will see the companies undertake close cooperation in the evaluation and certification of third-party software, as well as vehicle and tyre models, to ensure native and seamless application in VI-grade driving simulators. All VI-grade SimCenters worldwide will be equipped with the SES-AgileTire software suite for tyre model analysis and provide access to sample library of commercial tyre models.
“It is an honour for Stackpole Engineering Services to partner with the team at VI-grade on the creation, implementation and validation of tyre models and vehicle physics in the VI-grade simulator environment, and to provide industry-leading support for our joint customers,” commented Michael Stackpole, president and founder of Stackpole Engineering Services. “Stackpole Engineering Services is proud to include the VI-grade simulator as part of our expanded engineering service offerings, and are focused on utilising this world-class toolset to evaluate and certify commercial and custom tyre & vehicle models, and to support our customer’s unique virtual environment programmes.”
“Tony Spagnuolo, VP of business development at VI-grade added, “We look forward to collaborating even more closely with our valued partner Stackpole Engineering Services in the development and implementation of tyre models on our driving simulators to provide the best possible simulation solutions to our joint customer base of vehicle and tyre OEMs.”
