Premium wheel manufacturer BBS, has announced the results of its research into Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) compatibility with its own range of aluminum wheels.
With EU Directive ECE-R64 stating that TPMS are required to be standard fitment on all new cars from November 2014, the German manufacturer has conducted several tests using CAE programs to ensure effective, and correct installation of the sensors across its range.
BBS states that its range is compatible with ‘most’ commercially available aftermarket sensors, as well as ‘most’ OE fitment devices too. The full list of compatible devices is available from the BBS website. Michael Widua, TPMS specialist in the BBS development team commented that ‘all future BBS wheels will be designed so that they are compliant with all TPMS systems’.
