NIRA Dynamics, an automotive software technology company, has announced that it has now sold 100 million units of its Tire Pressure Indicator (TPI).
NIRA’s TPI technology is based on software rather than hardware, working without physical sensors in each tyre. This setup saves a little unsprung weight, and also reduces the associated electronic waste, raw material requirements, and manufacturing costs.
Indeed NIRA Dynamics estimates that with its TPI technology now fitted in 100 million vehicles, it has contributed to an estimated reduction of 40,000 tons of electronic waste.
“Our journey to 100 million TPI units is not just a testament to our technological progress but also to our dedication to a greener, cost-effective future,” said Lisa Åbom, CEO of NIRA Dynamics.
Looking ahead
As NIRA Dynamics celebrates this milestone, the company is continuing to advance its automotive technologies. The company recently launched TPI UX, an update to TPI, which offers enhanced detection performance and an improved graphical interface for increased safety and performance.
NIRA has also launched Road Surface Alerts, a system which warns drivers of hazardous road conditions, and Road Surface Conditions, a system that offers enhanced decision-making for ADAS services in varying road conditions.
