Gaz Group, which manufactures commercial wheels in Russia and MW SpA (the wheels division of Italian group CLN SpA) are to establish a joint venture manufacturing steel clamped wheel discs at Gaz’s Nizhny Novgorod site in Russia. This is the third joint venture for the production of automotive components in this location; Bosal-Gaz JV an exhaust systems manufacturer operates in the area and an established joint venture between Bulten, a European manufacturer of fasteners and Gaz Group, is located at the site.
Start of production is planned for 2015 with an annual capacity of 2.5 million wheels per year.
President and CEO of Gaz Group, Bo Andersson, commented, “Our joint production of wheels with MW is not just an upgrade of the wheel production at Gaz, but also new jobs and processes. Gaz Group has upgraded 75% of its vehicles for the last 3 years, produced new vehicle models, opened projects with the leading global automotive manufacturers, and we are developing production of automotive components.
