Cadillac has turned to tire manufacturer, Bridgestone, to equip the 2013 XTS. The luxury sedan will be fitted with a 20-inch version of the Potenza RE97AS tire as an original equipment item to the range topping Platinum Collection models.
The same size tire and wheel combination is available as an upgrade on lesser-spec models, such as the Premium Collection variants. The RE97AS is the product of two-years worth of R&D and is a V rated, all season high-performance tire. The fitment on the Cadillac will be in 245/40R20 95V specification, something the Bridgestone have tailored to the XTS to deliver ‘a quiet ride, while also exhibiting the handling characteristics, traction capabilities and improved fuel economy expected from today’s luxury sedans.’
“We are thrilled to partner with General Motors to supply the upscale fitment for the Cadillac XTS,” said Michael Martini, president, original equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division, BATO. “The Cadillac brand is synonymous with luxury and performance, and we know that the RE97AS will be an important contributor to the luxury driving experience delivered by a truly exceptional vehicle.”
