Dymag Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Borbet GmbH, a global manufacturer of light alloy wheels, has acquired the trade and assets of Dymag Group Limited, a manufacturer of carbon wheel rims for cars and motorcycles. The prepack transaction includes the Dymag brand, patents, production facilities, and the immediate integration of all employees.
Dymag Technologies will continue to supply BX-F wheels to aftermarket customers in the USA and Asia, as well as Tier 1 wheel companies worldwide. In addition, Dymag Technologies will continue to develop and produce its range of motorbike rims at its site in Chippenham, UK.
Dymag Technologies will operate as a standalone subsidiary of Borbet, and will work with Borbet to scale production of its OEM and aftermarket BX-F carbon hybrid wheels. These products will be offered to Borbet’s OEM and aftermarket customers to ensure seamless integration of the technology into Borbet’s product portfolio.
Burkhard Plett, CEO of Borbet, said of the deal: “The acquisition of Dymag assets by Dymag Technologies expands our portfolio to include carbon and magnesium rims. This strategic decision underlines our aim to be a leader in all key automotive wheel technologies.”
