Dynisma, a UK-based motion simulator technology company, has entered into a partnership with McLaren Automotive (McLaren), a deal which will see it supply the British supercar manufacturer with a state-of-the-art driving simulator, as well as becoming the brand’s ‘Official Motion Simulator Partner’.
The company’s Dynisma Motion Generators (DMGs) are already in use by multiple automotive OEMs worldwide, selected as they combine low latency with high bandwidth to an immersive, realistic and responsive driving simulation experience.
As Official Motion Simulator Partner, Dynisma’s expert team will work closely with McLaren over the coming years to support the brand’s engineering division in advanced vehicle development programmes.
A Dynisma DMG simulator is due to become operational at McLaren’s Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking, Surrey, in 2024, which will be used to virtually develop new McLaren models in key areas including vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics, propulsion systems, Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH), control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI), User Experience (UX) and ergonomics.
The realistic experience of the simulators enables reduced new car development times, through the elimination of the need for multiple physical prototypes while enabling countless tests and parallel projects to take place in a repeatable, sustainable, and closed environment.
Ash Warne, CEO of Dynisma, said of the partnership: “McLaren first proved the benefits of using high-performance driving simulators to develop race cars 20 years ago, and so for Dynisma to now become McLaren’s Official Motion Simulator Partner because of our world-leading technology makes me especially proud. To add to that, I also started my engineering career with McLaren Racing back in 2007, so it is fantastic to come full circle.
