Bf1systems, a developer of advanced electronics for motorsport, has seen a second Formula 1 team adopt its ‘intelliamp’ for the forthcoming season.
The new, dual-gain intelligent amplifier incorporates the company’s microprocessor controlled temperature compensation system, to allow for consistent performance across a wide temperature range.
The unit was tested on a Formula 1 car’s strain-gauged push and pull rods, and allowed the team to analyze the dynamic loading and aerodynamic balance of a single strain gauge installation on each push rod.
“We are delighted with the results of the testing and that we were able to provide our customer with the additional measurements that they requested,” said bf1systems’ mechanical design manager Simon Roberts. “The successful testing with this leading F1 team has resulted in a second F1 team signing up to use the dual gain intelliamp for the 2012 season.”
