Following regulatory approvals, Spectris has completed the acquisition of Concurrent Real-Time, a provider of real-time computational hardware and software. Concurrent Real-Time has now become part of HBK (Hottinger Brüel & Kjær), as part of the company’s strategy to enhance and grow its simulator platform businesses and fully integrate hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) technology.
Concurrent Real-Time, together with VI-grade and Imtec Engineering, will join to become the Virtual Test Division within HBK, with a focus on providing complete solutions to virtually test products throughout the entire development cycle. Spectris says the synergy of these businesses will build on their positions in simulation software, simulators and hard-real-time computing solutions.
Joe Vorih, CEO of HBK stated, “Our strategy remains clear – to become the preferred partner to our customers as they look to accelerate product development and optimise sensing to improve their products. Both virtual testing and physical testing are critical to the acceleration of product development, and the acquisition of Concurrent-RT and establishing our Virtual Test Division significantly strengthens our technology solution and customer offering on this journey.”
