McLaren Automotive is set to reveal a new supercar at 20:10pm GMT on December 8, 2018. It will be the second model unveiled as part of the McLaren Automotive Track25 business plan.
The Track25 plan was announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2018, and entails a £1.2bn (US$1.5bn) investment in research and development to deliver 18 new cars or derivatives by the end of 2025.
The first Track25 model was the McLaren Speedtail, a hybrid ‘Hyper-GT’ that will join the company’s Ultimate Series with a central driving position and the fastest top speed of any McLaren yet. Only 106 units will be produced of the McLaren Speedtail. McLaren also launched the 600LT in 2018.
To support the development, engineering and manufacture of its sportscars and supercars, McLaren Automotive partners with specialist companies including AkzoNobel, Kenwood, Pirelli and Richard Mille.
