IPG Automotive, a Germany-based developer of software for vehicle development, has set up a subsidiary in Bangalore, considered by many as the technology capital of India.
Nagesh Poojary, an experienced automotive manager and development engineer, will head up the Indian subsidiary as managing director. Poojary’s previous role was as leader of safety products in Continental’s Bangalore office, where his responsibilities included the company’s autonomous mobility unit within its systems and software business. He also has many years of experience in the development of computer vision, as well as safety and camera solutions for ADAS.
Nagesh Poojary said of the new IPG office: “IPG Automotive will even be closer to the customers in India and we will support them to the best of our abilities on site. In the past, a sales partner was responsible for the Indian market, but now we are handling business directly, ensuring customer-centricity.”
Senior Vice President and CCO of IPG Automotive, Martin Elbs, is positive about the growth potential in India: “The Indian market plays a very essential role in the automotive industry. It is therefore consistent to open up this market with our own subsidiary and offer local support.”
