Continental has opened a new test center in Yancheng, China, intended to support the testing and validation of vehicle dynamics safety products and systems, such as electronic and hydraulic brake systems, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and tires. The center is also intended to provide a solid foundation for technical support and product development in China.
The Yancheng facility– the company’s second test site in China (it also has a winter test center in Heihe) – occupies 2,500 square meters, including offices and testing workshops. The site is a joint investment with China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), a technical administration body for the automotive industry and a technical support organization to China governmental authorities.
Frank Jourdan, president of the chassis & safety division of Continental AG, said, “The opening of the Yancheng test center reflects Continental’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market through developing local products and providing Chinese customers with cutting-edge technologies and R&D capabilities.”
