AP Racing has opened a new facility for producing high-performance brake calipers, located next to the company’s existing facility in Coventry, UK. The 2,700m2 factory incorporates what the company describes as “industry-leading technology” for the manufacture of niche road car brake calipers, with the potential to expand further, adding similar production lines going forward.
Indeed this potential for expansion could be useful, following a period of sustained growth for the company – growth which made the investment in this new UK facility “crucial,” according to David Hamblin, managing director of AP Racing.
The site will enable AP Racing to accelerate its rate of new product development and manufacture, with several new brake and clutch launches planned for its key motorsport, OEM road car and performance upgrade markets into 2020 and beyond.
“The new facility allows us to simultaneously focus on our capabilities across the OEM and motorsport sectors,” added Hamblin. “This investment will be vital in keeping us at the forefront of all the markets we serve.”
