Most petrolheads will have enjoyed the 1976 short film C’était un Rendez-Vous (‘it was a date), a spectacular high-speed drive through early morning Paris as a Ferrari driver rushed towards a romantic encounter. The director, Claude Lelouch, has made a long-awaited sequel, Le Grand Rendez-Vous, filmed over the weekend of 23 and 24 May, when the Monaco Grand Prix would have been held. In the 2020 version the simple plot seems less clear, but Scuderia driver Charles Leclerc’s skills in driving a Ferrari SF90 Stradale through Monaco are obvious.
