Simulation and driving simulator company, VI-grade, has completed the installation and commissioning of its Compact Simulator model at the Ford Motor Research and Engineering Center in Nanjing China. The companies are now working on integrating 3D virtual data into the driving simulator that will simulate Ford China’s test tracks in Nanjing.
The system consists of the Compact Simulator and the Virtual Testing Tracks package, which Ford engineers will use to evaluate vehicle dynamics performance, primarily on steering and handling capability, in a 3D virtual environment. The simulator uses the same tool chain as the VI-grade Static and Dynamic DiM driving simulators, which means Ford can easily upgrade to a more advanced simulator.
