BWI – Mount product engineer

Kettering, Ohio, USA

Job responsibilities
• Participate in the design, development and validation process for components of our automotive suspension products
• Provide product engineering expertise to support quality analysis, supplier development, and plant continuous improvement activities
• Lead prototype builds
• Conduct and champion design-related cost-reduction activities; coordinate meetings and activities, conduct verification testing, communicate with product groups, follow change procedures
• Institute problem-solving strategies, facilitate quality issues, review and approve inspection reports and report out at meetings as necessary
• Issue and follow all necessary paperwork/reports for design changes, engineering permits, verification testing, product change methodology sheets and product/material specification changes
• Design, validate and release engineering drawings that meet customer requirements

Required qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Able to read and understand engineering prints/drawings
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to professionally use MS Word and Excel

Preferred qualifications
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Moderate level of hands-on mechanical skill
• Familiarity with Unigraphics, geometric tolerance (GD&T), and statistical analysis
• General knowledge of suspension system operations and functionality
