Realtime Technologies – Senior business development engineer

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Realtime Technologies (RTI) has an opening for a Senior Business Development and Research Engineer with a passion for driving simulation. The position’s main responsibility is to grow the business with new opportunities in the university and OEM markets, both domestically and internationally.

The position requires travel to customer sites to gather user requirements, design custom simulation solutions, write proposals and pricing justification, and maintain customer contacts throughout the proposal/contract process.

This is a senior position and responsibilities include: design of custom simulators for university and OEM customers; design of visual display systems; integration of hardware for simulation; as well as an understanding of customer-driven experimental design using simulation tools.

This is an opportunity to grow RTI's driving simulation business in the United States, China and worldwide research and development markets.

Travel is required, as needed, to support the business up to 60% of the time.

Required skills:

• Experience in three or more of the following technologies:
- HMI (Human Machine Interface)
- Real-time simulation tools
- Hardware in the loop simulation
- ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- Autonomous vehicles

• Ability to master the software tool suite from Realtime Technologies
• Great interpersonal skills – customer always first
• Must be able to understand and respect NDA agreements between RTI and the customer
• Engineering or Computer Science degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to travel, internationally
• Ability to be on travel over contiguous weeks (occurs for international travel)
• US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)

Preferred skills:

• Advanced degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Ability to design custom visual display solutions for the research simulators
• Ability to engineer hardware and software solutions for real-time vehicle simulation
• 3-5 years’ experience in real-time driving simulation research
• 3-5 years’ experience working in a research lab environment
